Photo sessions are on location in the comfort of your own home or other outdoor location. I use natural and available light whenever possible to achieve the most flattering soft skin tones. When photographing young children, it's important to keep in mind what time of day they tend to be happiest. However, for outdoor portraits, early morning or late afternoon is best to utilize the softer light and shadows. For indoor sessions, it's helpful to find a room that has ample sunlight filtering through.

Sessions are approximately one hour, but we will take as much time as we need to make every member of your family relaxed and comfortable in order to capture everyone at their best. This is particularly important with young children who often take time to warm up. (Although, I've had great success getting kids to warm up in no time!) The bottom line is you will not feel rushed, and most of all, you'll have fun. Promise!

Feel free to bring along your child's favorite toy or snuggle item, or other "props" that express your child's personality and imagination. Fairy wings, magic wands, big rubber boots and floppy hats can add an element of whimsy and also make adorable pictures! Sippy cups and dry snacks are also fine to keep your child satisfied during the session.

What to wear? Obviously, this is your choice and should reflect your personality as well as the type of photograph want. If you are looking for a timeless quality to your photos, then stick to classic pieces of clothing with clean lines and solid colors. In most cases, try to avoid wording, large distracting logos or pictures. Jeans and solid color tops work great on everyone, and can be a great way to unify siblings or family members for a group photo. Flowing solid color dresses look great on little girls, khakis and solid color tops are great on boys. And bare feet always look adorable on kids! If you are having a difficult time deciding, feel free to bring along some options and I will help you decide what works best.

After the session, I will spend time editing your images in my "digital darkroom" before presenting them to you in your own private on line gallery within one week after our photo session. Here you can view your photos at your leisure and share them with friends and family.

Photos can be ordered directly from your gallery simply by clicking on "buy this photo" which will appear on top of the image. Follow the instructions to order the print sizes or wall portraits you want. Digital downloads and photo gift items are also available directly from the website. All items will be shipped to you in approximately 1-2 weeks after placing your order.
